We raise unheard voices and reveal untold stories through filmed media.
PKWY Media is an independent film production studio launched in 2019 by filmmaker Pj Perez. Based in Southern California, our documentary and narrative film projects reveal the remarkable from the seemingly unremarkable.
About Pj Perez, founder + executive producer

Pj Perez is a multidisciplinary storyteller whose debut feature, the 2021 documentary Parkway of Broken Dreams, won several film festival “Best Documentary” awards and enjoyed national public television distribution and international distribution on a variety of streaming and VOD platforms. He is currently in production on his second documentary feature, Murdered on the Fourth of July.
During his 15-year career as a Las Vegas journalist and editor, Perez focused on lifting unheard voices, including in underserved and activist communities. He has written, directed and/or edited several short narrative films and documentaries, as well as the pilot for a nonfiction webseries, and his pilot script for the original drama series, The Foundation, was a finalist in the 27th Annual People’s Pilot Contest.
Perez was also previously the publisher and founding editor of Pop! Goes the Icon, a comic and book publishing imprint based in Las Vegas. He has also written and/or drawn a number of digital and print comic strips, series and stories, and his illustration work has appeared in a variety of books and publications.
As the principal behind PKWY Media, he often serves in a variety of roles both on and off set, including line producing, location managing, assistant directing, bookkeeping, marketing and whatever else needs to be done to ensure our projects run smoothly, get finished on budget and on schedule, and get in front of the right audiences.
